BRMEMC Celebrates Milestone Work Anniversaries

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — On Thursday, January 30, Blue Ridge Mountain EMC celebrated work anniversaries for employees ranging from five to thirty-five years of employment. In January of each new calendar year, employees are recognized for reaching 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of employment. Employees are recognized by the General Manager in front of their coworkers and given a plaque to commemorate their work milestone. Twenty-five employees received recognition for their years of employment and have a combined 485 years between them. Below is the list of employees celebrating a milestone work anniversary.

• 5 years: Steven Murphy
• 10 years: Skip McKeral
• 15 years: Jason Brannan, Ryan Garrett, Joe Graper, Robert Gray, Autumne Ledford, Cory Long, Andy Pickelsimer, Erin Pickelsimer
• 20 years: Mark Cabe, Dillard Canup, Tim Cheeks, Sheila Cook, Adam Fleming, Evan Hughes, Kembra Hughes, George Wilson, Dustan Young
• 25 years: Dale Anderson, Jerry Green, Brad Wilson
• 30 years: Kenny Beavers, Stacey Poteete
• 35 years: Tony Denton

This is a testament to the Co-op and the rewarding careers that we have,” said General Manager Jeremy Nelms.

BRMEMC was officially founded in 1938 – 82 years ago – and now serves over 53,000 members, maintains over 6,000 miles of power lines, and provides fiber internet service.
