Some of the advantages of paying by bank draft:
-
Your bill will always be paid by the due date.
-
Your credit record will be the best.
-
You will never have a penalty for late payment.
-
No late notices because of some problem in your payment getting to us on time.
-
You will save postage and the cost of an envelope.
-
No more worries about mail delays or about getting to an electric bill paying station.
-
A change in your mailing address will not affect getting the bill paid.
-
You will continue to get an electric bill at the normal time so that you can enter the amount in your checkbook to ensure funds to cover payment of the draft. This bill will also show that the payment is being made by bank draft.

General Bank Draft Information
-
Your bank account will be drafted and your account with BRMEMC will be given credit ten days before the due date on your bill.
-
If you decide to pay by bank draft, please send us a "voided" check and the authorization to draft your bank account for payment of your electric bill. The authorization and a voided check must reach us ten (10) days before the date you normally receive your bill. Example: If your bill due date is September 24, the bill is mailed on September 7, the authorization should be in the BRMEMC office before September 7, or the draft for the bill due in September will not be prepared until the October billing. The September bill will need to be paid by cash or check.
-
Just be sure there are sufficient funds in your bank account to pay the draft each month.
-
Regardless of the method you use to pay your bill, you are a valued member of BRMEMC and we appreciate you.
