Safety Tips
If you see a line that has fallen, assume that it is always energized. Do not attempt to come in contact with any line that has fallen. Call Blue Ridge Mountain EMC Immediately!
Never Assume a line is "dead".
Never touch an object or person that is in contact with a power line.
Don't climb trees that are near power lines.
Don't play on or near guy wires attached to power company poles.
Stay away from electric substations and equipment.
Avoid playing on or near underground transformers (Green Boxes).
Dig Safely! State Law requires you to call the Utilities Protection Center of Georgia @ 1-800-282-7411 before doing any type of digging or working near underground or overhead power lines. If you dig North Carolina call 1-800-632-4949
Avoid coming in contact with electric appliances while in or near water.
Periodically check all appliances and extension cords for deterioration.
Place safety covers on all electrical outlets.
